Sweet Nothings with Himani Shah

Sweet Nothings with Himani Shah

When luxury content creator, Himani Shah told us she’s going to Paris in the summer of the Olympics, we had to get her recommendations on all things French.

431-88: What should one pack for Paris?

Himani: Cool outfits. Parisians care more about how fun your outfit is than the brand you are wearing so definitely no logos but lots of style.

431-88: Which hotels would you recommend to book?

Himani: My favorites are the Barrier Fouquet on Champs Élysées and if you want to be a little away from the shoppers then Le Maison Albar de Diamond is a sweet boutique hotel. For a weekend getaway from the city, Trianon Palace Waldorf Astoria is what I would recommend.

431-88: How does one eat like a local?

Himani: Une croissant, un cafe keeps a girl going most of the day. Add in the lovely desserts and I’m a happy puppy.

431-88: Which cafes would you recommend?

Himani: Carette for my favorite hot chocolate with fresh cream and Le Consulat if you want the absolute tourist experience.

431-88: Your favorite croissant in the city?

Himani: All croissants are great in Paris: from the one you pick from your local bakery or one of thr gourmet ones: I love them all.

431-88: Where would you meet your friends for lunch?

Himani: Alan Ducasse restaurant on the 7th.

431-88: Your favorite spot for date night?

Himani: Giraffe or Hotel Costes

431-88: What would be your French pharmacy haul?

Himani: All things Caudalie. I’ve been buying and using it for years now and half the family also loves it.

431-88: What’s the best time to visit Paris?

Himani: I love the cold, so autumn/ winter is for me, but most people love spring/ summer. Paris is always a good idea my love.

431-88: Your favorite stores and galleries in Paris?

Himani: Louvre - I can spend days here and not be bored or go back so often and still be amazed every time. The Kith store off Champs Élysées is an experience with a restaurant, DJ playing, indoor greenery, and chandeliers made of keds. It’s not just shopping it’s a full-on experience. You have to visit it to know what I’m talking about.
